Annapurna Beckons

The Annapurna region in central Nepal offers some of the most scenic trails in the world. Owning to its geographical and cultural diversity, trekking here is a real treat. This area has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains. The people of this region are an assortment of different ethnic groups though mostly dominated by Gurungs and Magars. This 6 day trek in the Annapurna foothills to the top of Poon Hill is one of the most pleasant trekking areas.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Pokhara- Dhampus (L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Pokhara town through scenic mountain highway. Continue on to Phedi. Commence trek. Walk along a steep uphill trail to Dhampus (1800m) (3 hrs walk).

 

Day 02: Dhampus - Landrung (B, L, D)
Trek from Dhampus to Landrung village (1680m) (6 hrs walk).

 

Day 03: Landrung - Ghandrung (B, L, D)
Trek from Landrung to Ghandrung (1980m) (2 hrs walk). Afternoon explore this wonderful village.

 

Day 04: Ghandrung - Tadapani (B, L, D)
Trek from Ghandrung to Tadapani (2904m) (5 hrs walk)

 

Day 05: Tadapani - Ghorepani (B, L, D)
Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani (2830m) (5 hrs walk)

 

Day 06: Ghorepani - Tirkhedhunga (B, L, D)
Early morning, hike to Poon Hill to see sunrise.
Later, trek down to Tirkhedhunga (1577m) (6 hrs walk)

 

Day 07: Tirkhedhunga - Pokhara (B, L)
Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Nayapool (4 hrs walk) and drive to Pokhara.
Rest of the day is free.
