Trip Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu - Paro- Thimpu (2,350 m) (65 kms/ 2 hrs drive) (L, D)
Fly to Paro (1 hr). Upon an arrival, drive to Thimpu valley, the capital of Bhutan. Afternoon, visit the National Memorial Chorten and Tashicho Dzong, the secretariat of the national monk body from outside.
Day 02: Thimpu - Punakha (1,300 m) (77 kms/ 3 hrs drive) (B, L, D)
Drive to Punakha through Dochula pass 3,100m - site of one of Bhutan's most enchanting views. On a clear day the whole range of the Himalaya stretching from east to west can be viewed. Transfer to Aman Kora Punakha. View the Punakha Dzong from outside. This Dzong (fort) is set on the junction of the two rivers Phochu (Male River) on the right & Mochu (Female River) on the left with their waters merging right in front.
Day 03: Punakha – Paro (2250 m) (143 kms/ 5 hrs drive) (B, L, D)
Drive back to Paro visiting Simthoka Dzong. Later, visit Rimpung Dzong or the Fortress of the Heap of Jewels; visit Taa Dzong, the national museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and other artifacts.
Day 04: Paro – Kathmandu (B)
After an early breakfast, drive to the airport and fly back to Kathmandu
